Update: The live version of this concert was hosted on May 9th but you can watch the full concert recording anytime online.
The Power of Disability reminds us of what we have in common – the power to create a good life for ourselves and for others no matter what the world has in store for us.
– Michael J. Fox
The quote above is on the cover of my new book The Power of Disability, which celebrates the artistic, political, literary, scientific and other achievements of people with disabilities. Instead of a book launch, I was planning a series of concerts to highlight local artists, entertainers and performers with disabilities. Then the corona virus hit. I cancelled those events and adapted the concept to our current reality.
Now I’m thrilled to invite you to an intimate, online concert. I want to celebrate the power of disability through music, storytelling, and humour. And bring some joy and laughter into your life.
I’d love for you to join us from the comfort of your home.
When: Saturday, May 9th at 4 – 5:15 pm PDT (7:00- 8:15 EDT)
Where: Zoom! Tickets are $6 and available through Side Door
Performers include:
- Amy Amantea (Actor)

Ticket proceeds go to Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network. They’ve been helping Canadians stay socially connected and emotionally supported for thirty years. And have ramped up their work during this virus.
I look forward to seeing you on May 9th to celebrate the #powerofdisability.
